Investment Accounting Analyst - Reporting & Analysis

About the position

Responsible for analyzing investment income data/reports to ensure financial results are accurate. Performs the reporting functions of investments, which include analysis of investment income data, internal management reporting, and preparation of investment disclosures for external reporting. Works on special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed review and analysis of net investment income, realized gains and losses, allowances and impairments, and investment yield data for all invested assets (e.g., bonds, equities, mortgage loans, derivatives, alternative assets); analysis of results for variance in trends and against expected results; provides solutions to resolve issues.
• Coordinates and summarizes investment information for internal and external stakeholders.
• Works within Investment Accounting and with other functional areas to achieve efficient and effective accounting and reporting practices and procedures.
• Responds to requests from other functional areas on various inquiries.
• Performs accounting functions and maintains and prepares month-end, quarter-end and annual reports for assigned areas, including ad hoc requests as needed.
• Ensures quality investment information is provided to clients in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience
• 5+ years accounting or finance experience

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree or CPA
• Progress towards FLMI or CFA Charter
• Public accounting experience
• Intermediate experience with GAAP accounting
• Insurance/Reinsurance financial reporting experience
