Are you ready to join a company with a strong purpose and a winning culture? Start your Voyage – Position Summary: Contributes to monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes. Conducts analysis of the research and documentation of financial analysis, ad hoc requests and special projects. Prepares, reviews and verifies the accuracy of financial statements and data, Recommends and implements accounting methods and procedures. Please Note: This position allows remote work from home but will require travel to our Voya office as business requires.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience including monthly close, GAAP reporting and General Ledger analysis
  • Experience working with extensive data sets in a complex environment and various reporting tools (e.g. WebFocus)
  • Experience with financial reporting under multiple ledgers and requirements such as US GAAP or STAT
  • Strong computer and automation skills, including strong proficiency in Excel spreadsheet functionality and Microsoft Access
  • Well developed organization and communication skills, and ability to operate in a complex and dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or investment accounting experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Completion of daily/monthly close procedures including accounting data reconciliation between general ledger, derivatives sub-system, data warehouse and core data sets
  • Ensure accurate and timely resolution of daily exceptions from the derivatives sub-system including research on issues and proper corrective action
  • Prepare US GAAP 10-K and 10-Q financial reports on quarterly basis
  • Prepare quarterly and annual Statutory filings
  • Assist department with other derivatives reporting deliverables including business unit and management reporting
  • Perform various analysis to explain balance sheet and income statement movements under US GAAP and Statutory accounting bases
  • Ensure department documentation is compliant with internal policies and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Evaluate current processes and participate in process improvement projects
  • Facilitate internal and external audits of derivatives
  • Participate in cross-training of key functional areas
