Requirements

Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or
Associates degree plus 6 years of relevant professional experience, or
High school diploma plus 7 years of relevant professional experience
Experience conducting investigations within a federal healthcare, regulatory, or compliance setting
Strong analytical and investigative skills
Knowledge of investigative techniques, interview protocols, federal healthcare regulations and compliance with government programs
Effective communication and writing skills, with ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience using case management systems, e-discovery tools, and data analytics platforms

Responsibilities

Support the Investigation Lead with functions of the task order, including the review of dispensers, pharmacies, and manufacturers’ practices to ensure adherence to Negotiation Program requirements
Assist with intake, triage, and prioritization of investigative matters
Conduct investigations based on complaints received through the CMS contractor
Review documentation and data submitted with the complaint and conduct data analysis, identifying and assessing potential risks or violations
Conduct background research from various sources including CMS systems and online resources
Conduct interviews with complainants, stakeholders, witnesses, and any other affected parties
Collaborate with data analysts, auditors, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to collect and assess evidence
Prepare and maintain accurate case documentation, logs, and investigation summaries throughout each case in compliance with federal guidelines
Prepare written investigative and closure reports articulating facts from the investigation and any recommended actions
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and CMS data protection requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
