Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or
  • Associates degree plus 6 years of relevant professional experience, or
  • High school diploma plus 7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience conducting investigations within a federal healthcare, regulatory, or compliance setting
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills
  • Knowledge of investigative techniques, interview protocols, federal healthcare regulations and compliance with government programs
  • Effective communication and writing skills, with ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience using case management systems, e-discovery tools, and data analytics platforms

Responsibilities

  • Support the Investigation Lead with functions of the task order, including the review of dispensers, pharmacies, and manufacturers’ practices to ensure adherence to Negotiation Program requirements
  • Assist with intake, triage, and prioritization of investigative matters
  • Conduct investigations based on complaints received through the CMS contractor
  • Review documentation and data submitted with the complaint and conduct data analysis, identifying and assessing potential risks or violations
  • Conduct background research from various sources including CMS systems and online resources
  • Conduct interviews with complainants, stakeholders, witnesses, and any other affected parties
  • Collaborate with data analysts, auditors, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to collect and assess evidence
  • Prepare and maintain accurate case documentation, logs, and investigation summaries throughout each case in compliance with federal guidelines
  • Prepare written investigative and closure reports articulating facts from the investigation and any recommended actions
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and CMS data protection requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
