The SPLC’s Legal Department is seeking an experienced Investigator who is committed to social justice! SPLC is a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements, and advance the human rights of all people. As an internationally recognized nonprofit organization, the Center is dedicated to reducing bigotry and oppression through outreach, public education, litigation, and policy advocacy. The Investigator plays a key role in supporting attorneys and litigation teams by investigating cases at varying stages of litigation. They also work with attorneys in locating, interviewing, and maintaining contact with clients, potential clients, and witnesses. Who You Are Experienced. Demonstrated experience in locating individuals and conducting effective investigative interviews. Adaptable. Ability to adjust quickly in response to case updates or changes. Relationship Builder. Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Technology Skilled. Experience utilizing various software applications to conduct research to locate individuals, maintain and update cases files and documentation. Collaborative. Demonstrated ability to work with internal teams, external organizations, and stakeholders to support litigation. Mission, Vision & Culture Alignment.
