About The Position

Implements best practices in the area of security investigations including case management, interviewing and interrogation protocol, and report maintenance. Provide system wide problem-solving assistance, guidance, and consultation to staff regarding security investigations, and services as a liaison to law enforcement agencies. Coordinates cases with law enforcement as necessary. Investigates significance cases of internal policy violation or action that are or may be criminal in nature. Gathers and analyzes data obtained through the investigative process to identify patterns, trends, or causes and recommends correction action to reduce further occurrences. Develops in collaboration with other departments such as Compliance, General Counsel, and Risk Management, system wide strategies for operational and regulatory reporting of misconduct in support of organizational policy and law enforcement requirements. Stays abreast and knowledgeable of regulations and laws pertaining to investigations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of security practices, procedures and related state and federal compliance requirements.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, public relations and general administrative skills.
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations, prepare reports for decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise mature judgement and sound reasoning while maintaining a courteous and tactful demeanor in dealing with employees, visitors, and patients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and external organizations to problem solve.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar products.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of diplomacy and public relations skills as well as the ability to effectively gain the cooperation of outside agencies such as law enforcement agencies, OSHA, NIOSH, and local police and fire departments.
  • For hires made on or after June 1, 2025, in the NC/GA Division, Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related fields, required.
  • IL and WI Divisions, bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field, required.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in security, loss prevention or investigations.
