About The Position

The Investigator for the District Attorney's Office in Pueblo County, CO, is responsible for conducting complex criminal investigations, coordinating with various law enforcement agencies, and assisting in court preparations. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year of law enforcement experience required.
• POST Certification CRS 16-2.5-104(1) required.
• Valid driver's license at the time of application and a valid Colorado driver's license at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex criminal investigations for the District Attorney's Office.
• Assist and coordinate efforts with other law enforcement agencies.
• Maintain work records and case files, preparing reports and administrative documents.
• Locate, arrest, and prosecute fugitives in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.
• Act as a liaison with local and outside agencies during major investigations.
• Interview victims and witnesses, recording their statements.
• Interrogate suspects and collect evidence.
• Write reports of investigations and confer with attorneys regarding cases.
• Testify in court and advise prosecuting attorneys on case facts.
• Photograph, videotape, and sketch crime scenes.
• Develop informants and analyze statements related to white collar crimes.
• Perform undercover and surveillance assignments.
• Engage in community relations work and provide office security.
• Serve subpoenas and summons.
