Temp Coles County Duties/Responsibilities: Accurately record, track, and manage inventory transactions. Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels and resolve discrepancies. Investigate and report inventory variances and damaged goods to department leadership. Support the development and enforcement of inventory control procedures and best practices. Organize and maintain inventory records and documentation in a clear, accessible manner. Follow all established safety and operational procedures. Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate inventory updates. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Work overtime as needed to support business demands and meet performance goals. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Prior experience operating stand up forklifts or similar industrial equipment REQUIRED Proficient computer systems, including Microsoft 365; familiarity with Warehouse Management System (WMS) is REQUIRED Strong verbal and written communication. High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Basic math skills for inventory counting and reconciliation. Positive attitude and collaborative, team-oriented mindset. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume setting and adapting to changing priorities. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in inventory management or a related field is a plus. 1+ year experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a similar role. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage. Physical Requirements: Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Work is performed in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures and noise. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods. Frequent bending, lifting, and moving of items up to 50 lbs.
