About The Position

The Inventory Supervisor oversees all inventory-related activities to ensure efficient material flow and compliance with organizational procedures. This role is responsible for supervising inventory staff, maintaining inventory systems, performing audits, and resolving discrepancies. The Inventory Supervisor works closely with warehouse, purchasing, and production teams to maintain optimal inventory performance.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree – preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience in a similar role, including people management; responsibility to include the following:
  • Staff planning; decision-making; facilitating process improvement; taking responsibility for subordinates’ activities; provides regular performance feedback; continually works to improve supervisory skills. Treats people with respect; works with integrity and upholds organizational values.
  • Business Acumen to include the understanding of business implications of decisions. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and makes timely decisions.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Capable of developing project plans and communicating changes and progress.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and schedule inventory team members.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, goal setting, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
  • Maintain a positive, productive administrative culture.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of departmental activities and documents.
  • Participate in the interview process for the department.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; initiate plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
  • Appraise performance, reward, and discipline employees.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of departmental activities and documents.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
  • Communicate Company policies and other related facility topics to direct associates.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Office Manager.
  • Perform and record training of all direct associates either directly or via designee.
  • Ensure proper development of all associates is being recorded.
  • Oversee implementation of the Quality Management System within the Inventory Department. This includes but is not limited to generation, review, and revision of controlled documentation and adherence to a continuous improvement mindset culture.
  • Follow all ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Generate and review areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Conduct internal audits.
  • Run and evaluate open order reports, open work order reports, on hold reports, and small pound reports; communicate necessary changes or updates to direct reports, management, and customers.
  • Keep management abreast of significant issues or developments that impact quality and inventory management.
  • Prepare and present statistical information to the management team (including but not limited to nonconformances, departmental objectives, etc.)
  • Update End of Month reports by customer (verify all charges are properly documented); tally/sum all results.
  • Liaison for all lab/quality communication and project requests pertaining to the lab and sample retention.
