About The Position

PurposeThe purpose of the inventory role is to ensure incoming material, stock transfers, work orders, book to book transactions are processed with accuracy and in a timely manner to guarantee the flow and integrity of the inventory across the organization. The inventory Specialist is the main point of contact and acts as a liaison between Ravago business units and the 3rd party warehouses while maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Areas of Responsibility / TasksPerformance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below. Essential Functions Process transactions as required or assigned, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established procedures. Review, validate, and complete receipt of incoming transactions for assigned warehouses. Review daily reports for past due orders and make inquiries with relevant parties. Analyze daily Delivery/Overdue Purchase Order reports and resolve open and past due order issues. Analyze mid-morning Open Pack Out/Open Transfers reports to ensure warehouse production schedules are met. Communicate any damaged material received with the appropriate Product Manager/Buyer/Purchasing Associate or Logistics Coordinator to follow appropriate steps to address and resolve the situation Complete book to book process on a monthly basis Research inventory discrepancies tied to assigned warehouses and as result of book to book findings Ensure all discrepancies related to receipt of material are communicated, addressed and resolved with relevant parties. Manage RGA returns and additional investigation for assigned warehouses in conjunction with the quality department. Escalate issues appropriately to Management, Warehouse Services, or other relevant parties. Gather and report daily KPI data Actively participate in Daily Management meetings to measure and take actions on metrics/KPIs Review and address small lbs. and railcar heels weekly Review, process and manage documentation related to transactions for portfolio assigned Manage blocked inventory Serve as backup to other inventory specialist team members of the same or above level as needed Complete work orders for transactions requiring repacks, relabels, blends, pulverizes, and transfers. Initiate and/or validate Re-packs, Re-labels, Blends, and Transfer work orders for daily transactions and returns. Manage warehouse claim creation, submittal, and work with warehousing team on resolution. Monitor in transit and idle railcar reports Additional Responsibilities Support warehouse physical counts with accounting and the warehousing team Remove roadblocks and provide creative problem-solving for alternate production services. Analyze submitted production work order requests for warehouse suitability, provide quotes, and estimate timeframes for completion. Update internal customers with production schedule changes or delays and re-prioritize based on need. Communicate work order requirements with the appropriate warehouse and negotiate production scheduling to meet customer shipment dates. Initiate and investigate Corrective Action Requests for assigned warehouses. All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Experience
  • Education: Bachelors degree with similar experience preferred. Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
  • Experience with inventory and warehousing preferred
  • 4 years’ experience with high-volume, multi-site, remote inventory management preferred.
  • Licenses / Certifications: Valid driver’s license – required
  • Language: Proficiency in English required

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-Lingual – Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
