About The Position

As a retina inventory specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to deliver the best eyecare. Retina Inventory Specialist will support the clinic in maintaining retina medication inventory, medication reconciliation, patient assistance programs, and other related duties for all locations that provide Retina Services at Panorama Eyecare. Will also provide back up support for Retina Patient Advocate functions through communication and cooperation with provider Lead Technicians and clinical leadership. The function of a retina inventory specialist should serve to ease the administrative burden on clinical staff and provide patients with a liaison between themselves and clinical support staff members, internal & external Providers.

  • Previous customer service experience required.

  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to raise hands and arms to shoulder level without restriction, pain, or discomfort.
  • Ability to perform extended use of physical or soft phones and computer keyboarding without pain or discomfort.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Word processing/computer scheduling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement of Specialty Medications (PAP, Buy and Bill, and Samples)
  • Vendor/Pharma Relations
  • Daily reconciliation of retina medications utilizing RetinaOS
  • Weekly and monthly inventory counts, ensure compliance for all retina locations
  • Maintaining adequate supply levels to ensure continuity of care
  • Navigation of supply chain shortages and shipping delays
  • Product replacement for wasted, expired, and spoiled medications
  • Partnership with RCM department to resolved reconciliation concerns
  • Coordinate with Lead Technician on Patient/Provider Communication Facilitation
  • Monitoring of All Forms of Patient Communication
  • Assist with Triage of Ocular Emergencies and Coordinate with On-Call Provider’s Lead Technician
  • Assist with copayment program enrollment and benefits investigations
  • Provide Specialty-Specific Administrative Support to Lead Technicians
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Cross-train in the Retina Patient Advocate role to serve as backup support, including taking patient payments, understanding insurance coverage, and assisting with patient billing questions.
  • Cross-train in the Retina Patient Service Coordinator (PSC) role to provide backup coverage for patient calls and concerns, including triaging calls to schedule, reschedule, or appropriately assist patients.
  • Manage oculoplastic medications, including ordering, reconciling inventory, and maintaining appropriate par levels.
  • Support continuity of patient care by providing coverage across roles as needed to ensure timely patient assistance and clinic operations.
