The Inventory Specialist function is a critical component of Smith+Nephew’s overall US Supply Chain strategy, serving as the last mile to ensure success in thousands of hospitals and surgery centers daily. This role, while potentially stressful, is rewarding, knowing it plays a critical part in patient outcomes. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records of products flowing through the territory, ensuring accountability for missing products for proper billing, and managing case coverage, inventory, and data analysis. This is an on-site position within the Logistics Team in a territory sales office(s), responsible for managing and implementing company inventory and asset management policies and procedures at the territory/area level. Key aspects include maximizing asset utilization, minimizing inventory/instrument investment, maintaining accurate product placement records, and coordinating surgery schedules to ensure accurate and timely delivery of instruments and implant sets. A good working knowledge of company products, operating systems, and procedures is essential.
