About The Position

The Inventory Services Team Leader is responsible for directing the activities of assigned departments, providing leadership to employees, and ensuring efficient productivity levels to meet production requirements. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and compliance with policies and procedures while promoting continuous improvement and teamwork within the organization.

Requirements

  • Three years' experience in manufacturing operations with previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read drawings and production documents.
  • Team and customer service orientation; ability to build teams and foster an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Must be highly responsive and possess a strong sense of urgency and willingness to do what it takes to service both internal and external customers.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
  • Ability to read and correctly interpret all production paperwork.
  • Good problem-solving, judgment and decision-making skills; able to make decisions and follow-through.
  • Superior attendance, reliability and work performance records.
  • Ability to build teams and encourage an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Ability to be successfully trained and licensed for forklift, pallet jack and other manufacturing operations.
  • Ability and willingness to work extra hours.
  • Computer literacy, including the ability to word process, utilize software applications and use electronic mail.

Responsibilities

  • Review production schedules and coordinate activities with the Supervisor and other personnel.
  • Work in an extremely safe manner, and ensure all other employees are working safely.
  • Delegate tasks and assign resources to meet schedules.
  • Provide leadership, direction and training to employees.
  • Ensure parts and products meet acceptable quality standards.
  • Collect and organize data that is used to perform analysis on goals and metrics.
  • Suggest and submit solutions and improvements to manufacturing or operational issues.
  • Maintain consistent communication.
  • Comply with all federal, state and company safety, environmental and health regulations and procedures.
  • Promote an environment of mutual respect; quickly address and eliminate any complaints, discrimination or harassment among employees.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
  • Inform appropriate personnel of needed machinery, equipment or tool repairs or maintenance needs.
  • Prepare reports for cycle counting and assist with reconciliation.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
  • Assist Supervisor with preparation of Job Performance Evaluations (JPEs).
  • Provide appropriate disciplinary and/or corrective action when needed.
  • Oversee all receiving activities, including unloading of incoming board, laminate and other materials.
  • Maintain 6-S in work areas.
  • Assist in departmental planning, strategies and implementation.
  • Support and implement applicable strategic planning initiatives.
