About The Position

What You’ll Own Overall health and performance of Chem-Impex’s inventory Reorder logic, safety stock targets, and SKU governance Management of inventory aging, expiration risk, and obsolescence Inventory metrics, dashboards, and decision visibility Optimizing service, cash flow, and operational risk What Success Looks Like Within your first 12–24 months, you will: Increase inventory turns by 15% Reduce expiration-related losses by 20% Maintain 98%+ fill rates for Strategic SKUs while lowering on-hand inventory Launch a live inventory health dashboard to support weekly buy / no-buy decisions What You’ll Do (Day to Day) Segment and govern inventory using ABC/XYZ and shelf-life risk frameworks Define, enforce, and monitor reorder points, safety stock, and exceptions Guide Purchasing on timing and quantities of orders using data-driven insights Track slow-moving, aging, or at-risk inventory and lead mitigation efforts Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Warehouse, Sales, Finance, Customer Service, and Purchasing Translate inventory data into actionable insights What You Bring 5+ years in inventory management, supply planning, or operations; experience with shelf-life or batch-controlled products preferred Strong analytical skills with practical business judgment Experience bringing structure to complex or imperfect systems Comfort in prioritizing competing demands across service, cost and risk Clear, direct communicator who can influence across teams You’ll Be a Strong Fit If You… Take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks Care about details like expiration dates and count accuracy Proactively identify and fix problems Speak openly about risk, losses, and tradeoffs Enjoy working cross-functionally in an operational environment Work Environment Combination of office and warehouse settings Regular interaction with chemical inventory in controlled environments What We Offer Competitive compensation (commensurate with experience) Medical, dental, and short-term disability insurance Optional vision and long-term disability coverage 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays A role with real influence and visibility in the company

Requirements

  • 5+ years in inventory management, supply planning, or operations; experience with shelf-life or batch-controlled products preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with practical business judgment
  • Experience bringing structure to complex or imperfect systems
