About The Position

The Inventory Planner will support operational execution across Scale’s growing portfolio of CPG brands, with a focus on supply planning, procurement, and inventory management. This role ensures the efficient flow of raw materials and finished goods across all product life cycles, including new launches, promotions, and catalog items. You will play a critical role in maintaining optimal inventory levels, improving forecast accuracy, and driving operational efficiency across the supply chain. This is a highly cross-functional role, partnering with Operations, Finance, and external vendors to support scalable growth across Scale’s health and beauty brands.

Requirements

• 2–5+ years of experience in inventory planning, supply chain, procurement, or a related role
• Experience in CPG, retail, or health & beauty industries preferred
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/MRP systems
• Understanding of demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply planning principles
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with vendors, freight partners, and third-party logistics providers
• Experience in DTC, eCommerce, or multi-channel distribution environments
• Familiarity with inventory optimization tools or planning systems

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Inventory Planning
• Manage procurement of finished goods and raw materials, including item setup, order placement, and system updates
• Authorize purchase orders and transfers for raw materials and finished goods
• Monitor daily delivery status and resolve supply chain issues across internal and external partners
• Analyze inventory levels and historical data to inform demand forecasting for promotions, replenishment, and new product launches
• Evaluate demand for new releases and ongoing catalog performance
• Maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and ensure accuracy of master data (product specifications, manufacturing instructions, weights/dimensions, classification codes)
• Manage finished goods inventory across multiple distribution centers to ensure optimal stock levels
• Maintain accurate perpetual inventory balances and ensure material availability
• Create and maintain reporting on inventory status and ongoing projects; participate in inventory planning and supply chain meetings
• Identify excess and obsolete inventory and recommend disposition strategies
• Support inventory reduction and cost savings initiatives
• Recommend improvements to inventory planning models based on demand trends, seasonality, and supply chain requirements
• Vendor & Logistics Management
• Monitor vendor performance against KPIs including on-time delivery, pricing accuracy, shipping accuracy, and service levels
• Generate and review performance reports, identifying exceptions outside SLA
• Conduct follow-ups and resolve vendor-related issues as needed
• Coordinate with freight partners and manage inbound shipments
• Reporting, Analysis & Cross-Functional Support
• Prepare reports and summaries for management and external stakeholders
• Support presentations to internal teams and external partners
• Assist with testing and implementation of new systems and processes
• Support departmental initiatives and business plans as directed by management
