About The Position

The Inventory Planner II plays a critical role in ensuring optimal inventory levels across the wholesale trade supply chain within the United States. This position is responsible for analyzing sales trends, forecasting demand, and coordinating with procurement and logistics teams to maintain balanced stock levels that meet customer needs without overstocking. The role requires continuous monitoring of inventory performance metrics and implementing strategies to improve turnover rates and reduce carrying costs. The Inventory Planner II will collaborate closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to align inventory plans with business objectives and market fluctuations. Ultimately, this position drives efficiency and profitability by maintaining accurate inventory forecasts and supporting seamless product availability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the wholesale trade industry or a similar fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Certification in APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of statistical forecasting methods and data visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives related to inventory management.
  • Experience with international procurement.
  • Experience with GAINSystems software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate inventory forecasts based on historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment and optimal stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory performance metrics such as turnover rates, stockouts, and excess inventory, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Analyze demand variability and adjust inventory plans to mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for management to communicate inventory status, trends, and improvement opportunities.
