The Shipping and Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shipping and receiving department. This role ensures that all incoming materials are processed accurately and all outgoing orders are dispatched on time, meeting quality standards and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can optimize warehouse workflows, manage a diverse team, and maintain a safe, organized environment.
Requirements
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in warehouse management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP software (such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics). Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are often essential for tracking metrics.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Certifications: Forklift operator certification is typically required.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
