About The Position

We’re looking for an experienced Inventory Control Manager at our Chattanooga, TN facility to elevate and strengthen our inventory operations across the manufacturing floor. This is a high‑impact role for someone who thrives on building structure, tightening controls, and driving accuracy in a fast‑paced production environment. You’ll oversee Receiving, Warehouse Management, and Logistics, ensuring materials move efficiently and reliably through the facility. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (Or Equivalent Experience)
  • 4+ years of inventory control or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven success establishing or improving inventory control systems and processes.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, BOMs, material movement, and production support.
  • Experience leading Receiving, Warehouse, or Logistics teams.
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems and strong analytical skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to influence change.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, or similar methodologies.
  • Certifications such as CPIM or CSCP
  • Experience leading in a union environment

Responsibilities

  • Build and implement robust inventory control processes to improve or replace current practices
  • Lead Receiving, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant material flow.
  • Develop cycle count programs, physical inventory procedures, and reconciliation processes that drive high accuracy.
  • Analyze inventory trends, identify root causes of discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Strengthen ERP/WMS utilization by improving data integrity, training users, and optimizing workflows.
  • Partner with Production, Planning, Procurement, and Quality to ensure materials are available and aligned with manufacturing schedules.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs such as inventory accuracy, material availability, shrinkage, and inventory turns.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that support lean manufacturing and reduce waste.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members to ensure consistent execution of new standards.
  • Provide clear reporting and insights to leadership on inventory performance and operational risks.
