About The Position

The Inventory Manager is responsible for managing the inventory of RRFB. The Inventory Manager will maintain the schedule of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual counts and reconciliations as applicable for the continued accuracy of our warehouse inventory. The Inventory Manager will implement process improvements as needed to create efficiencies, increase accuracy, and track all product movements inside the warehouse. Duties include, but are not limited to: Manages all inventory counts, document reconciliation, investigate root cause and correct discrepancies Performs physical inventory, cycle, back stock, pick bin counts for both itemized inventory and inventory by weight. Verifies physical condition of inventory during all counts. Manages warehouse bin locations in Ceres and physical warehouse to increase visibility and identification of inventory from a system and physical point of view Sets expectations for team and determines metrics to track productivity Holds team accountable for performance, productivity, and conduct Works with Operations, Product Intake, and Outbound teams to resolve inaccuracies by analyzing product flow and using problem solving skills Investigates ad hoc discrepancies during pick process Processes product returns ensuring accurate putaway of returned items Reviews quality reports and makes corrections as needed Performs root cause analysis and recommends process approvements Maintains knowledge of any technology and equipment used in the course of daily job duties including Ceres ERP, barcode scanning devices, forklifts and other warehouse equipment Manages Item Journals and performs accurate inventory adjustments, ensuring proper coding for data tracking. Including waste and shrink adjustments. Using strong communication skills, provides Operations Team and other departments with feedback obtained concerning inventory metrics, employee performance, order processing, process deviation and other relevant information Uses Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook to stay informed and communicate with others in the organization Adheres to Roadrunner Food Bank’s Safety policies and mandates from Food Safety and Quality Team Responsible for all applicable compliance measures as indicated in the Feeding America Partner Food Bank Agreement Network Standards Orders supplies as needed Ensures team members are cross trained and capable of providing backup assistance Leads by example and enforces safety as well as food safety policies Evaluates existing processes regularly and analyzes for opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and most effectively utilize incoming food Provides excellent internal/external customer service Treats all stakeholders with respect and sets the same expectation with team members

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience managing inventory.
  • Forklift Certification or capability to complete OSHA certified forklift training program within 30 days of hire date.
  • Minimum 2 years in a warehouse environment serving in a leadership position.
  • Experience using a product inventory database.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using warehouse power equipment.
  • Must be willing to successfully complete training and adhere to safety standards.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse groups of people ranging from coworkers to outside stakeholders.
  • Excellent computer skills (including experience with Microsoft Office applications and internet communication).
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, keep documents and files organized, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under a deadline.
  • Must show initiative and flexibility.
  • Independent decision-making skills.
  • Manager Level Food Safety Training will be provided.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience managing inventory in a food bank or food storage facility.
  • Experience using Microsoft Jet Reports preferred.
  • Prior food handling experience and safety training (e.g. FIFO)

Responsibilities
