Sodexo is seeking an Inventory Manager for KIPP Houston schools located in Houston, TX . KIPP Houston is part of the national KIPP network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools dedicated to preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and life. Sodexo currently manages food service operations at 34 sites across Houston with 4 central kitchens The inventory manager will oversee inventory control including price negotiation of various products, receipt, storage, rotation, waste elimination, as well as, distribution of food, supplies, vending and equipment to all school locations

  • manage supervisors and frontline central kitchen and transportation employees.
  • oversee process and systems for all incoming and outgoing products and supplies in the central kitchens (e.g., routing, ordering, picking, inventory, distribution, trash removal).
  • work closely with other department managers to ensure continuous supply of raw materials to production department and distribution of finished products to end users.
  • Continuous improvement planning is required through tracking, measurement and reporting of ongoing operational metrics and performance.
  • Improvement through strategic planning is required based on measurement of current operational performance.
  • oversee the physical and food safety training and processes to ensure compliance with company standards and safe working conditions for employees, visitors and guests.
  • Inventory management experience within the food and beverage industry.
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with inventory management systems
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years
