Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Secret Clearance desired.
  • Some experience using power equipment in a warehouse operation.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Ability to accommodate overtime nights/weekends and the potential to work second shift as needed.
  • Experience working with tools used in packing operations and be capable of instructing others in their use.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
  • Receive incoming materials, unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Verify quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
  • Maintain records of received goods, packing sheets, and other documents.
  • Stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
  • Lift heavy items and operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc.
  • Determine the packaging requirements for contractual and non-contractual shipments.
  • Prepare packaging specification card and all required labeling.
  • Perform and provide instruction to others in the packaging, shipping, and related paperwork activities.
  • Perform self-inspection as necessary, maintaining appropriate quality logs.
  • Maintain inventory of standard required packaging materials.
  • Interface with suppliers to re-stock.
  • Provide assistance on incoming shipments; enter activity in automated material receipt system.
  • Assure reliable operation of departmental delivery/moving equipment by coordinating periodic service with Plant Maintenance.
  • Assist with and provide instructions to assistants in performing shipping and receiving duties.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and ESD rules within the work area.
