This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting supply chain operations, and ensuring hospital departments have the supplies they need to provide quality patient care. Job Summary The Inventory Management Specialist tracks inventory levels and monitors stock changes across departments. This role oversees inventory control processes, manages deliveries, monitors expiration dates and recalls, and maintains accurate inventory records. Through digital tracking and manual counts, the Inventory Management Specialist identifies discrepancies and provides reports and analysis to the Director of Materials Management.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of inventory management experience
• Experience with inventory management software

Responsibilities

• Track and document inventory changes across departments
• Maintain accurate inventory records using digital systems and manual counts
• Conduct monthly cycle counts, spot checks, and partial physical inventory audits
• Perform weekly expiration date checks in the warehouse and other departments
• Maintain par levels in supply rooms and adjust inventory as needed
• Identify discrepancies between physical counts and inventory reports
• Provide inventory control reports to the Director of Materials Management
• Analyze supply chain data to identify and resolve inventory issues
• Identify obsolete inventory and coordinate transfer or disposal before expiration
• Update databases with incoming and outgoing inventory
• Inspect and document inventory recalls
• Assist with and train staff on physical inventory procedures
• Collaborate with departments including accounts payable, finance, and external vendors
• Support updates and improvements to inventory software and related technologies
• Perform other related duties as assigned
