About The Position

The Inventory Lead plays a critical role in overseeing day‑to‑day inventory control operations and ensuring accurate stock levels across the facility. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager (or Plant Manager, depending on your location structure), this position supports, guides, and directs team members responsible for inventory tasks, cycle counting, stockroom accuracy, and materials flow. This role is perfect for an individual who is organized, analytical, and passionate about process improvement. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–3 years of inventory control experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and WMS/ERP systems (SAP, WMS, or similar).
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to guide and mentor team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of inventory clerks, cycle counters, and stockroom personnel.
  • Oversee cycle counting programs, root‑cause investigations, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all inventory movements in WMS/ERP systems.
  • Train new and existing team members on inventory processes, safety protocols, and SOPs.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy metrics, report variances, and drive corrective actions.
  • Partner with purchasing, logistics, production, and warehouse leadership to optimize stock flow.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation, bin accuracy, labeling, and space utilization.
  • Support audits (internal and external) by ensuring documentation and inventory procedures are compliant.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized stockroom and inventory work area.
  • Assist with material handling as needed, including operating forklifts or stock‑moving equipment.
  • Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives such as process updates, layout improvements, and inventory system enhancements.
