About The Position

Under general supervision, responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of park assets through the Parks Operations Management System and other various computer systems; responsible for managing the procurement, receipt, storage, and issuance of staff uniforms using the City's procurement computer system, and by maintaining and developing various uniform suppliers; responsible for managing departmental auction activity within the City's authorized surplus asset auctions, through various computer systems and by coordinating with departmental staff and auction participants. Utilize various computer systems, including but not limited to, the department's Operations Management System, the City's Enterprise Resource Management System (ERM), financial systems, procurement systems, web-based portals, office systems, and vendor supply and ordering systems. Maintain accurate digital inventory records of park assets in the Parks Operations Management System. Communicate with field operational staff regarding additions, changes, or removal of park assets. Perform quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes to identify system asset data discrepancies and apply necessary corrections. Manage all aspects regarding the procurement and distribution of staff uniform items. Follow and update departmental policies regarding uniforms. Utilize the City's procurement and financial systems to efficiently manage budget amounts related to uniforms. Foster existing uniform vendor relationships and procurement alternatives. Investigate and develop new vendor relationships as needed. Manage the department's participation with the City's surplus auctions. Coordinate with departmental staff to identify auction items, move and store items in preparation of an auction, and coordinate with auction participants for item pickup. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Train fellow staff in the use of the department's Operations Management System, and other systems as needed. Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Operate and control the actions of equipment, machinery, and tools used in performing job functions. Maintain a high level of professionalism with both internal staff and external representatives. Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of asset and work management system software
  • Knowledge of ERM and financial system software
  • Knowledge of personal computers and basic office software, including MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of GIS software and geospatial concepts
  • Knowledge of budgetary concepts
  • Skilled in problem solving and analyzing data
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work in a team by supporting others and contributing to team efforts
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with limited supervision
  • Ability to work inside (office environment) andoutside (field environment)
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, and valid class C driver license
  • Associate degree, plus two years progressive experience in Parks and Recreation or asset procurement or asset management, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Possession of a valid TX Operators License, Class C
  • Criminal background check, drug/alcohol testing, Physical and motor vehicle review (MVR)
