About The Position

The Inventory Analyst supports the delivery of services of Pathology Laboratory customers by maintaining sufficient inventory supplies utilizing LAWSON (ERP) to meet customer needs in a timely manner. Responsibilities include to serve as inventory consultant in reporting and reduction of all Pathology Laboratory supply inventory. To maintain ongoing communication with Pathology Laboratory management team. Requirements

  • Associates degree or 3 years equivalent experience in an inventory management position required.
  • Must read, write, speak, and comprehend English fluently.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience as a hospital or retail purchasing assistant or progressive experience in a hospital purchasing area is required.
  • Experience with an automated inventory system required.
  • Proficient with business tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be self-directed and assume responsibility for timely completion of job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to perform math calculations.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to negotiate purchases.
  • Spatial perception required to plan for supply storage.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in analytics with an understanding of the healthcare industry, gathering report requirements, and designing and implementing solutions preferred.
  • Experience with analyzing data, accounting and or financial procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
  • Maintains the necessary supply levels through monitoring, reports, and adjusting inventory levels based on usage through accurate and timely electronic documentation of transactions for all responsible inventories.
  • Collaborates with all departments with inventories to minimize interruptions in service, supply shortages and inventory management improvement.
  • Places orders for supply replenishments in a timely manner.
  • Maintains inventory according to KANBAN and works according to LEAN standards
  • Reviews Manufacture Recall notices through Risk Department, Manager and Lawson Database and works with end users to remove any affected product from UPH-DM campuses.
  • Performs Requisitioning/Purchasing functions as assigned.
  • Receives shipment of orders from wholesaler and direct purchases. Unpacks supplies from the dock and places them in the correct area. Checks shipment invoice, checking expirations dates and rotating stock.
  • Provides Supply Chain Leadership with information from regular supply utilizations, or other conditions, which may affect UPH-DM operations or budget planning.
  • Project manages supply conversions in collaboration with Pathology Laboratory Leadership.
  • Communicates effectively with all UPH-DM staff and management teams.
  • Oversee the Stericycle operation and attend annual HazWoper/RCRA training
  • Fills supply orders for clients
  • This position may be assigned a specific mission to address in an emergency to assist in disaster response and recovery as part of the UPH-DM Hospital Emergency Incident Command System. Situations of a critical nature may require an individual to perform multiple tasks until additional support can be obtained.
