About The Position

The Inventory Controller is a multi-skilled individual capable of backing up both the shipping/receiving and manufacturing operations. In completing these duties, they will be flexible and respond as necessary based on workloads, special projects.

Requirements

  • Accurate math skills, with the ability to perform basic computations such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
  • Competent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to operate an automated pallet jack and forklift truck, meeting Indiana OSHA standards and Wieland certification requirements on Wieland equipment.
  • Ability to accommodate flexible work hours.
  • Dependability in work performance and attendance.
  • Comfortable in a Windows-based computer environment.
  • Must be able to stand and walk 8 – 10 hours per day and operate pallet jacks.
  • Repetitive movements required with arms and while grasping with hands to move materials.
  • Must have good visual ability in order to determine colors, shapes, and size of materials.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 – 40 pounds consistently, and occasionally 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to process procedures on the computer.
  • Daily cycle counts and periodic inventories require mental aptitudes to learn these processes.
  • Must have the mental ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Must have the mental ability to communicate information to internal customers accurately in verbal and written formats.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production schedules, change orders, and hot lists to always ensure the on-time availability of materials for production.
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts, maintaining an overall accuracy level of 95%.
  • Coordinate and process all non-conformances for all areas according to the established guidelines.
  • Record and submit ISO 9002 Supplier Performance Sheets per defined procedures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with personal work schedule to always accommodate needs of production.
  • Understand proper packaging/skidding techniques vis-vis minimizing in-transit damage.
  • Trained to back-up shipping/receiving and manufacturing, as necessary.
  • Work with production supervision to plan material movement, acting on exceptions quickly.
  • Communicate with Supervisor, Production supervision, and appropriate Buyer to ensure timely orders and deliveries of raw materials to maintain constant flow of production.
  • Demonstrate appropriate IC - Purchasing relations when receiving materials, handling problem situations and resolving discrepancies in quantity or quality.
