The Inventory Control Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing stock levels, performing cycle counts, and ensuring the proper storage and handling of materials. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all materials are tracked, and inventory discrepancies are addressed efficiently to support production and operational needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Some college coursework in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fields is a plus.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
• Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Experience with barcode scanning technology and inventory tracking systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and identify discrepancies.
• Ability to troubleshoot inventory issues and work proactively to resolve them.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and handle physical inventory tasks in a warehouse or storage environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using BioTrack Inventory Management System.
• Ensure material levels are optimal and in alignment with production or operational requirements.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.
• Reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records, investigate causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Ensure materials are stored properly, labeled accurately, and tracked through to their destination.
• Accurately enter inventory transactions and adjustments into the inventory management system.
• Prepare and generate reports on inventory status, discrepancies, and performance metrics.
• Work with purchasing and production teams to identify inventory needs and initiate replenishment orders based on forecasts or production schedules.
• Follow all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, ISO, GMP, etc.) when handling materials and managing inventory.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as Procurement, Production, and Shipping/Receiving, to ensure inventory aligns with operational needs and schedules.
• Address inventory discrepancies, shortages, and other issues promptly.
• Investigate causes of discrepancies and suggest solutions to improve inventory accuracy.
