The primary function of this position is to ensure that all inventory items are properly identified and readily accessible, thus enabling the delivery of the parts to production in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Supervisor in a Production / Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in inventory control.
  • Strong verbal, written and analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains consistent communication with the purchasing department regarding new items, part changes, locations changes, etc.
  • Oversees the activities and job assignments of the inventory controllers including preparation of performance appraisals.
  • Ensures warehouse is kept clean and orderly.
  • Creates and establishes inventory accuracy goals.
  • Prepares inventory reports for review on a monthly basis.
  • Analyzes stock control data and develops plans to meet both internal and external needs.
  • Maintains ABC classification for all parts in conjunction with the finance department.
  • Maintains cycle count program for controlled stores, tanks and finished goods.
  • Provides suggestions and input in the establishment of approval guidelines for inventory adjustments.
  • Builds positive relationships across departments.
  • Provides input toward the development of inventory control policies and procedures and establishes work instructions to support those policies.
  • Recommends and implements measures to improve inventory control.
  • Other duties as assigned.
