Position Summary: The Inventory Control Supervisor oversees daily inventory operations to ensure accuracy, accountability, and efficiency across all warehouse and production areas. This role is responsible for leading a team of inventory personnel, maintaining system integrity, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring materials are properly tracked from receipt through final distribution to production lines. The supervisor works closely with assistant supervisors in Receiving, Shipping, Production, and Quality teams to support seamless material flow and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee daily cycle counts, reconciliations, and inventory audits to maintain accuracy within established tolerances.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between material storage locations and system records in SAP.
  • Ensure all inventory transactions (receipts, transfers, adjustments, returns) are processed timely and accurately.
  • Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and excess inventory and report findings to management.
  • Supervise and develop inventory control specialists, analysts, or clerks.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and corrective feedback as needed.
  • Foster accountability, teamwork, and adherence to company policies.
  • Conduct regular training on inventory procedures and system updates.
  • Collaborate with assistant supervisors in Receiving, Shipping, Production, and Procurement teams to ensure inventory accuracy and material availability.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports to management.
  • Communicate effectively with 3PL partners, vendors, and internal departments regarding material discrepancies or adjustments.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline inventory processes and improve data accuracy.
  • Support the implementation of best practices and LEAN inventory initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles.
  • Maintain and update information within ordering tracking systems.
  • Generate and analyze inventory performance metrics, including accuracy, turnover, and shrinkage.
  • Directly oversee Receiving and Rack-side Kitting Supervisors, ensuring alignment on priorities, staffing, and daily execution.
  • Conduct attendance verification through supervisors and ensure compliance with company attendance policies.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to both supervisors on leadership practices, communication, and staff accountability.
  • Lead start-of-shift and end-of-shift leadership huddles with Receiving and Kitting supervisors to align on: Safety updates Staffing concerns or attendance escalations Material flow status (inbound receipts, shortages, or delays) Daily build plan and production readiness goals
  • Partner with temp agencies and HR regarding labor planning, performance concerns, and staffing levels across both functions.
  • Ensure consistent training, performance feedback, and enforcement of de-trash, labeling, FIFO, and SAP process compliance.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork between Receiving and Rack-side Kitting teams to minimize handoff issues.
  • Maintain visibility into the full material flow from inbound receipt → put-away → rack-side staging → production line readiness.
  • Oversee material availability, ensuring Receiving schedules align with Kitting demand requirements.
  • Monitor and enforce accuracy of SAP transactions for receipts, put-away, bin moves, and kit staging.
  • Drive resolution of material shortages, substitutions, or quality concerns by coordinating across inventory control, procurement, and production planning.
  • Standardize processes between Receiving and Kitting to eliminate bottlenecks and improve predictability.
  • Ensure compliance with all VA/SOPs, including de-trashing, labeling, FIFO, and WIP staging requirements.
  • Act as primary escalation points for line-down risks tied to material flow.
  • Must understand and be able to perform all functions of both Receiving and Rack-side Kitting to support and backfill when required.
