About The Position

The Inventory Control Supervisor will supervise and direct all activities and employees in Inventory Control. This role involves leadership and management responsibilities, including recruitment, employee development, performance management, and communication. The supervisor will also handle functional management responsibilities such as business strategy, cost management, and technical management responsibilities to ensure optimal performance in inventory control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; and five years experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong financial and analytical ability.
  • Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and interview Inventory Control staff.
  • Coach Inventory Control staff in the interviewing/hiring process.
  • Monitor team member turnover and identify key factors for improvement.
  • Identify individual and team strengths and development needs.
  • Create and validate training curriculum in the area of responsibility.
  • Coach and mentor Inventory Control staff to deliver excellence.
  • Establish clear measurable goals and objectives for team performance.
  • Solicit ongoing feedback from management and peers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and counseling based on feedback.
  • Coordinate activities of large teams during crises.
  • Define and implement an Inventory Control strategy.
  • Identify creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes.
  • Monitor departmental performance and assure optimum performance.
  • Drive inspection out of the process to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure accuracy of record keeping and stock in the stockroom.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities related to verifying outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of operational supplies and support equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations.
