About the position

IDEAL ELECTRIC COMPANY, a 122-year-old, independent American manufacturer of high-power, specialty electric motors, generators, power systems and controls seeks an experienced, Inventory Control Specialist to join our on-site team in Mansfield, Ohio. The Inventory Control Specialist oversees the ordering, storing, receiving and distributing processes of the organization’s products and supplies. Key duties include controlling the flow of supplies and equipment, tracking and analyzing inventory maintenance, and developing protocols for loss mitigation. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update inventory records using inventory management software/ERP system
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses
  • Forecast standard inventory usage and order, receive, and document new stock, ensuring its adequate storage
  • Perform regular physical inventory audits and cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies
  • Coordinate with sales and production departments to forecast future inventory needs
  • Implement effective inventory control methods and procedures
  • Work with project teams to identify obsolete or damaged inventory and ensure timely disposition of materials in accordance with company policies
  • Prepare detailed reports of inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments
  • Pull and distribute parts for production departments, moving material through use of forklift, powered hand truck, and overhead cranes
  • Work with the logistics team to manage shipping processes and schedules
  • Ensure compliance with inventory processes and procedures

Requirements

  • High School diploma or certified equivalent
  • Previous inventory control or warehousing experience of 3 years or greater is preferred
  • Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes is helpful
  • Technical literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite and inventory management software (ERP)
  • Excellent math and analytical skills and ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
  • Strong verbal and written communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills
