About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist ensures adequate inventory of products is available to meet Sales and Production requirements. Utilize customer forecast, historical data, lead-time, and manufacturing capacity to maximize inventory turns. Understand markets served and the ordering patterns of each customer type. Develop supply models to meet customer requirements. Provides actionable reporting on inventory levels with consideration of contract requirements, on-time delivery, and penalties for shipment fill rates. Monitors process performance and implements improvements wherever possible. Assists in scheduling production requirements to support customer orders and safety stock demand.

Requirements

Minimum of three years' experience in a manufacturing industry.
High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Must be detail oriented.
Must possess strong communication and organization skills
Excellent customer service skills

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of an ERP a plus

Responsibilities

Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems.
Review safety stock requirements and provide recommendations to executive management.
Maintain knowledge of warehouse, inventory control policies, procedures, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Participate in the activities involved in balancing job order and sales order requirements.
Provide daily assignments to department personnel as needed.
Maintain close working relationships with associated departments, Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Engineering, Production, and Purchasing.
Provide direction to maximize inventory turns
Establish and monitor metrics designed to measure activity performance, and report metrics to executive management.
Ability to promote interdepartmental communication and flow of information.
Create, maintain, and revise, as necessary, various inventory control policies, processes, and procedures.
Monitor and improving inventory for On-Time product availability.
