About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist is primarily responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, performing routine cycle counts, resolving inventory discrepancies, and supporting regulatory and quality compliance standards. In addition to core inventory responsibilities, this hybrid role requires flexibility to assist with broader warehouse and supply chain functions, including receiving, shipping, and purchasing activities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency and the timely availability of materials to meet organizational demands. Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities

  • Cycle counts - Perform regular and scheduled cycle counts of inventory in all storage locations (main stores, satellite, quarantine, etc.)
  • Inventory Adjustments - Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies; adjust stock records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Inventory Levels - Monitor minimum/maximum stock levels and assist with inventory replenishment.
  • Monthly/ Quarterly financial adjustment reports - Positive and negative adjustments in inventory and gross adjustment
  • Materials Reports - Reports in general locally and with CSC. Example status of special requests by maintenance, safety stocks, stockroom material review, etc.
  • Participate as a member of the Tiger Team, a select group of cross-trained individuals who provide flexible support across all materials departments to assist areas experiencing high workloads or delays, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Indirect Purchasing - Provide backup support to the indirect buyer during periods of high workload or delays to help maintain smooth and efficient purchasing operations.
  • Create cycle counts and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely compliance
  • Monthly/ Quarterly adjustment reports for Finance and CSC.
  • Support materials supervisor understanding trends and areas of improvement to minimize inventory adjustments.
  • Receiving inspector to support when volume exceeds receiving capacity.
  • Generate savings through budget control or price savings from vendors.
  • Analyze material consumption to organize stockrooms and DC for a more efficient work flow.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Physical inventory readiness - Champion the organization of the annual physical inventory.
