Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Possess communication and organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and possess basic computer skills.
  • Previous material handling and semi-trainer loading/unloading experience.
  • At least two years of forklift driving experience
  • Ability to frequently sit and intermittently stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, twist, crouch, reach and lower body
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment regarding work priorities and problem solving
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 35 pounds safely

Responsibilities

  • Follow all established safety procedures in plant and warehouse.
  • Accurately maintain production inventory management database - JDE.
  • Conduct cycle counts, compile results, investigate discrepancies, and determine root cause.
  • Work effectively with production and shipping/receiving to track and maintain appropriate documentation and accurate inventory.
  • Safely use forklift to complete regular cycle counts and ensure accurate physical inventory counts.
  • Contact vendors or internal departments regarding delivery, lost shipments, incorrect paperwork, pricing, and quantity discrepancies.
  • Competently utilize JDE system for all paperwork and inventory management.
  • Maintain levels based on min/max to ensure quantity on hand while considering vendor lead times.
  • Audit BOMs to ensure pulling of accurate inventory items and make corrections when necessary.
  • Communicate professionally with team members, electronically, by phone, and in person.
  • Must be safety minded; satisfactory knowledge of forklift/yard dog, and safe driving practices.
  • Must have good knowledge of both finished products and raw materials and will be able to read and understand incoming and outgoing orders. Must understand labeling and packaging processes.
  • Responsible for loading trucks to customer specifications; verify quantity, product, labeling and packaging is correct. Ensure correct count and correct production dates of product are pulled to the staging area for audit.
  • General housekeeping of warehouse and dock areas. Will verify work area and product (finished and raw materials) are properly and safely stored.
  • Use problem-solving skills to handle situations that may arise.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
