About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist position is based in Washington, DC and requires a Secret clearance. Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 6 months experience in inventory, warehouse, or a related field
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts
• Ability to obtain security clearance
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, stooping, crouching, bending, reaching above shoulders, twisting, crawling, and kneeling

Responsibilities

• Ordering inventory from suppliers and the main warehouse, securing shipment arrival times
• Managing inventory by stocking and cataloging products
• Performing quality checks on stored inventory and discarding items that do not meet company standards
• Updating inventory count and maintaining records to share with management and stakeholders
• Reporting discrepancies in inventory counts
• Implementing loss prevention strategies
• Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly inventories
• Using inventory computer programs to update counts and compile reports, such as spreadsheets
• Researching the accuracy of product details and testing new products
