About The Position

The candidate fulfilling the obligations of this position will be required to enter data in Maintenance software. Will periodically drive to vendors’ locations, verify accuracy of orders, receive orders, and return orders to the Fleet Garage, in order to ensure 100% accountability of the purchase and operate the customer service window. This position functions to ensure the prompt delivery of repair parts and materials to 600+ Vehicles and Equipment of the University. Through this service, the position supports the Motor Pool personnel who provide the day-to-day service to the staff, faculty and students of the Georgetown Community. Incumbent interacts with University community and garage mechanics as vehicles and equipment are brought in or returned for service. Incumbent must listen to issues of concern of users and communicate adequately what problems there may be with equipment to the community and employees. Will monitor, record, and dispatch Motor Pool Inventory.

Requirements

  • High School education required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Automotive, Fleet operations, stockroom or warehouse operations.
  • Must possess a valid current Class ‘C’ (or equivalent) motor vehicle operator’s license from applicant’s state of residence at time of employment application.
  • Must possess Commercial Driver’s License Medical Certificate for vehicles over 10,000 lbs.
  • Required to have demonstrated computer skills and the ability to work with MS Windows and Database Software
