About The Position

Join Our Community of Food People! As the leader of the inventory control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of the market's inventory. You will work with cross-functional partners, using root cause analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and implement company best practices and routines.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree with management or supply chain background preferred.
  • 5 years minimum experience in inventory control or warehousing required.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control procedures.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with timekeeping, warehousing, and distribution back office systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in leading continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in foodservice distribution preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Labor planning and scheduling of inventory control staff to ensure timely completion of activities.
  • Coaching and development of associates to attract, develop, and lead a highly skilled and motivated team.
  • Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and developing best practices with cross-functional partners.
  • Identifying and resolving root causes of inventory losses in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Monitoring and communicating performance metrics related to inventory adjustments and analyzing significant cycle count adjustments.
  • Managing the reclamation process for vendor packaging issues and coordinating with buyers for billback and/or on-site repackaging.
  • Ownership of non-saleable inventory and ensuring timely resolution with cross-functional partners.
  • Reviewing and approving customer credit requests while determining root causes for process improvement.
  • Performing SOx compliance controls such as inventory report reviews and quarterly cycle count completion.
