About The Position

The Inventory Control Coordinator will work under the general direction of the Supply Chain Supervisor to ensure full visibility and control of all inventory levels. The position is responsible for ensuring that critical inventory is available and that all Supply Chain Management practices are followed, documented, and maintained.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years of business related experience to include inventory control and/or purchasing, in an applicable business or healthcare field.
  • Associate's Degree in Business or other related field; OR High School Diploma/GED combined with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supply chain department with progressive responsibilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft office products such as Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamental supply chain concepts.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional presence.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively, independently and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Experience using mobile technology in a professional environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a process improvement and change orientated workplace.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, Supply Chain Management, or other related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and the health care field preferred.
  • Understanding of how business decisions relate to finance preferred.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and make recommendations to leadership preferred.
  • Experience with inventory management software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory levels of asset inventory locations to ensure correct balance between availability and cost.
  • Optimize re-order quantities to maxmimize work efficiency.
  • Run reports to place stock requisitions and follow up with procurement on status of open orders.
  • Perform daily cycle counts and par location assessments.
  • Monitor inventory trends and usage changes and make adjustments as needed.
  • Serve as distribution lead for product conversions for assigned inventory location.
  • Manage and document consigned inventory product levels and usage.
  • Monitor inventory shortages and take action to engage procurement as needed.
  • Provide feedback to Supply Chain leadership regarding inventory levels with a goal of optimizing the use of Sparrow Health System resources.
  • Identify potential cost savings relating to inventory reductions, optimizations, and product mix.
  • Monitor and report inventory value, variances, and remediation.
  • Prepare spreadsheets and make cost comparisons and review with Supply Chain leadership.
  • Track the execution on product recalls and report completion to key stakeholders.
  • Responsible for annual inventory counting process and reporting.
  • Daily use information technology and materials management software to enter data and make inventory adjustments.
  • Develop and facilitate appropriate communication with Clinical staff regarding inventory management practices and product issues.
  • Develops periodic performance reports and monitors cost efficiency and service levels and presents key supply chain metrics to leadership.
  • Identify and participate in process improvement activities and serves as liaison for key initiatives.
  • Provide critical front-line feedback to support the Value Analysis process for the health system.
