About The Position

The Inventory Control Coordinator oversees the integrity of cycle counting inventory data by performing various duties. This role involves conducting scheduled physical counts of material in inventory, generating reports of counts, and comparing results with computer records to correct discrepancies. The coordinator determines the causes of variances between computer records and physical counts, makes recommendations for the frequency of physical counts, and prepares for periodic physical inventory as needed. Additionally, the coordinator prepares reports and data for various departments and must work effectively with other departments on problem resolution.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and proficiency in use of AS/400 computer and personal computer.
  • Proficiency in use of Windows 95, Excel, MS Word.
  • Strong Knowledge of PGT products and processes.
  • Basic written and verbal language skills required.
  • Must be able to count, multiply and divide.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts scheduled physical counts of material in inventory in specific areas of the company and generates reports of counts.
  • Compares results of physical counts with computer records of inventory and corrects computer records.
  • Determines causes of variances between computer records and physical counts, such as data entry errors, EC rule errors or worker error due to removing inventory without notation.
  • Makes recommendations for frequency of physical counts necessary in a given area based on variances in data.
  • Prepares for and helps conduct periodic physical inventory, as needed.
  • Prepares reports and other data as required by Material Planners, Purchasing Department, Receiving Department and Stockroom staff.
  • Must be able to work effectively with other departments on problem resolution.
