About The Position

The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of manufactured and/or purchased items in the plant. This role involves receiving, storing, shipping, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the establishment or to external customers. The position requires reading production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. The coordinator will also convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas, sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences, and fill requisitions or requests for materials and tools. Additionally, the role includes assembling customer orders, performing straightforward assembly in the Kitting Area, marking materials with identifying information, and maintaining records of materials received or distributed. The coordinator will also drive a vehicle or forklift to transport stored items and complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments, all while adhering to safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED).
  • 1 year related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or additional related education preferred.
  • Weiler Forklift Operators Certificate.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical tasks.
  • Prior experience with a computer required, including knowledge of Excel and Intuitive.

Responsibilities

  • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Perform straightforward assembly in Kitting Area.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Enter records on the computer.
  • Drive vehicle or forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, following all safety guidelines.
