About The Position

The Inventory Control & Compliance Coordinator is responsible for supporting warehouse and distribution effectiveness by ensuring inventory accuracy, proper product placement, audit readiness, and timely resolution of discrepancies through consistent inventory control procedures and compliance monitoring. Reports to the Inventory Control & Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in related field with 2 years of related experience in similar or related function in comparable environment OR 4 years of related experience in similar or related function in comparable environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in related field with 1+ years of progressively responsible experience in similar or related function OR 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in similar or related function.
  • Experience with cycle-counts or other inventory control methods.
  • Experience working with volunteers and operating warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • ServeSafe or other food safety certification.
  • Experience working in an enterprise order management system.
  • Experience working in the food distribution industry.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through consistent execution of cycle counts, audits, and follow-up actions.
  • Perform cycle counts with timely investigation and resolution of discrepancies to ensure system and physical inventory alignment.
  • Conduct TEFAP and GPP audits (once weekly each), including documentation review, corrective actions, and follow-up to maintain compliance and accuracy.
  • Complete CSFP cycle counts with appropriate follow-up and reconciliation of variances.
  • Perform location audits to verify correct product placement, labeling, and inventory integrity, addressing issues as identified.
  • Conduct outbound truck delivery audits to verify product accuracy, documentation, and fulfillment quality prior to or following distribution.
  • Monitor and maintain aged inventory, identifying slow-moving or at-risk product and supporting proper rotation and disposition.
  • Process waste log adjustments accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper documentation and inventory system updates.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and trends, escalating issues and supporting corrective actions to improve fulfillment accuracy.
  • Maintain organized records related to audits, counts, adjustments, and corrective actions.
  • Adhere to all inventory control procedures, food safety requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing order fulfillment accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Provide back-up support to the Distribution Manager.
