About The Position

The position involves coordinating the transfer of supplies from the Sterile Processing Department to the Operating Room (OR) and other end user departments. The individual will be responsible for accurately entering inventory issues and credits while monitoring inventory levels. Additionally, the role includes maintaining implant inventory for surgical trays and ensuring that medical surgical supplies for adult and pediatric code carts, isolation carts, and delivery carts are adequately stocked. The employee is expected to support and incorporate the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy into their job performance, adhering to the FH Compliance Program and all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous computer experience and telephone etiquette.
• Product knowledge of medical/surgical supplies.
• Ability to operate a computer.
• Ability to follow written and oral communication.
• Ability to learn medical surgical products and instrument terminology.
• Ability to function independently and in a group.
• Knowledge of interactions with other departments and ability to work cooperatively with staff.

Nice To Haves

• Previous inventory experience preferred.
• Previous experience as a Material Handler preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pulls requested supplies and prepares for delivery to end users.
• Returns unused supplies to the shelf.
• Rotates shelf supplies correctly, checks for expired stock, and removes outdated supplies.
• Orders necessary supplies according to established pars and considers receipt time to avoid stock outs.
• Monitors and maintains inventory credits/issues according to established pars.
• Assists with semi-annual and annual inventories.
