About The Position

The position involves communicating with and assisting patient care givers to maintain efficiency and ensure that unit supply area PAR levels are maintained. The individual must maintain cleanliness and restock unit-based-stock areas. Daily tasks include routine data entry, supply distribution, and clerical support that require knowledge of department or hospital procedures. Responsibilities may include data entry, responding to telephone or email requests, stocking supply carts according to a predetermined schedule, maintaining files and records, interpreting data, resolving routine problems, and answering questions. Under supervision, the role involves performing various manual tasks related to managing medical supply inventories in Surgery, Cath-Lab, Out-Patient, Clinic, and Bulk Stores areas. The position requires the use of a personal computer and applicable software to manage inventory of medical supplies, single-use surgical instruments, implants, devices, and related products. The individual will maintain records, replenish stock, and plan for future use requirements based on orders, production schedules, and forecasts. Occasional work on weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on-call status may be necessary. The position may also involve operating a company motor vehicle to conduct related tasks on an occasional basis.

Requirements

  • Valid Texas Driver's License and safe driving skills.
  • Familiarity with basic inventory control standards, record keeping, and documentation requirements.
  • Fundamental knowledge of aseptic technique and/or HACCP certification.
  • 9-12 months relevant experience working with medical/surgical supplies and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of Universal Precautions and Aseptic Technique.
  • Ability to work independently, quickly, accurately, and efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with medical supply preferred.
  • Math and analytical skills to perform inventory counts and calculations.
  • Commitment to compliance with STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
