About The Position

The Inventory Coordinator assists with one or more surplus processing product flows. Supports the evaluation and documentation of methods to recycle, sell, transfer, or dispose of property within established disposal processes. The position focuses on workflows to receive, process, and accurately track surplus electronics and computer equipment under guidance from lead staff. This includes preparing items for public sale, auction, and designated recycling programs. Coordinates with team members to schedule pick-ups and ensure accurate documentation. Follows OSU security procedures for processing/disposition of media storage devices such as computer and server hard drives, cell phones, CDs/floppy disks, and tape drives. Assists with the Surplus hard drive shredder program by following security protocols and maintaining records for Certificates of Destruction. Communicates effectively with customers and vendors as needed to support accurate tracking and disposal of university electronics. Works within established guidelines and seeks assistance for atypical issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of experience with inventory control and material/equipment handling.

Nice To Haves

  • Two to four (2-4) years of experience with inventory control.
  • One (1) year of experience utilizing Microsoft Office programs in an office environment.
  • Three (3) years of surplus operational experience with working knowledge of a property management system; knowledge for one or more of the specific, designated outbound disposition avenues.
  • Experience troubleshooting and/or dismantling computers and devices; PC hardware components, specifically Apple, Dell, and HP models; tech related certifications.
  • Ability to create communications via social media channels such as Facebook.
