Requirements

  • Associate's degree in accounting or 2+ years of inventory and sales/use tax experience
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with reconciliations and detailed accounting tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and navigate accounting software systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Construction industry experience helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Review and resolve unposted sales and inventory transactions on a weekly basis.
  • Review and correct sold-but-not-invoiced inventory locations weekly.
  • Identify inactive inventory items with remaining quantities and prepare cleanup support.
  • Review inventory minimum/maximum consumable pricing weekly and document exceptions.
  • Perform semiannual consumable kit rate calculations and prepare proposed updates.
  • Remove completed purchase orders from the system on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare physical inventory count sheets and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate and support physical inventory counts across branch locations.
  • Compile count results, investigate variances, and prepare reconciliation support for management review.
  • Prepare and submit sales and use tax returns under management review.
  • Maintain exemption certificate documentation and use tax support schedules.
  • Assist with responding to routine sales and use tax notices and inquiries.
  • Prepare audit, valuation, and tax workpapers related to inventory and sales and use tax.
  • Respond to routine inventory inquiries received through the company-wide inbox.
  • Support the Purchasing team with receiving BOLs into the accounting system.
