Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Inventory appropriate departments, which will in turn generate both stock and non-stock requisitions
  • Pick and deliver stock orders from storeroom inventory on a timely basis
  • Deliver and shelf stock and non-stock supplies and equipment in a neat, orderly manner
  • Receive and deliver and/or shelf all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy of shipments, noting damage or shortages
  • Responsible for shipment of outgoing supplies, including returns with proper packaging and insurance
  • Route packing slips to appropriate personnel
  • Keeps the storeroom, staging and dock areas clean and orderly at all times
  • Establish and maintain a good professional rapport with the medical staff, administration, nursing personnel, staff for patient care areas, and members of all other hospital departments and services
  • Adheres to the appropriate and necessary fiduciary, ethical, and professional tone of the corporate purchasing function, both intra and interdepartmental
  • Meet or exceed standards of compliance of all the accreditation and regulatory bodies and commissions, in relationship to the purchasing function
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Label all items with patient charge sticker
  • Fill carts from carts daily (weekdays)
  • Daily check on equipment and charge patient for equipment use
  • Clean/ disinfect returned equipment before reusing
  • Fill dressing trays daily when exchanging carts on Unit II and ICU
  • Daily (weekday) key entry of sign-out log sheet
  • Arranges for rental of patient-care equipment after hours
  • Restock and make sure patient is charged for crash carts on: Unit I, Unit II, Same Day Surgery, X-ray and OB
  • Deliver and be responsible for the following trays: Liver Biopsy, Bone Marrow, and Paracentisis, Cut down, Chest Tube Insertion, Ortho Tray, Burn Pack, and Thoracentisis. Ensure tray is charged to patient, gets cleaned by floor, returned to Central Supply (chargeable), and noted where it is taken
  • When isolation carts are out of department, check daily (weekdays) to see if they need to be restocked
  • When requested, deliver doctor's special requests such as Urology or Nasal trays; restock and make sure the patient is charged
  • Clean exchange carts and Central Supply (chargeable) shelves as time permits
  • Fill outside clinic orders
  • Fold restraints as time permits
  • Key entry for patient charges for both inventory and billing on a daily basis (weekday)
  • Performs other duties as assigned
