About The Position

Vintner’s Distributors, the corporate entity behind Loop Neighborhood and Poppy Markets, was established in 1978 and is headquartered in Union City, CA. The company's operations span across California, focusing on real estate development, ownership, and operation of gas stations, convenience stores, and car washes. Additionally, Vintner’s Distributors manages a wholesale division responsible for fuel delivery to dealer locations within the market. The company is actively seeking an Inventory Auditor, a role designed for individuals who are motivated, accurate, reliable, and possess efficient customer service skills. While previous experience in the inventory service industry is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement for this position. The core function of the Inventory Auditor involves conducting physical counts of all inventories, generating detailed department audit reports, and meticulously reconciling computer data against the physical counts. A critical aspect of the role is identifying and reporting any errors or discrepancies found during these audits. The auditor will be primarily responsible for performing inventory counts at various company-owned convenience stores located throughout the SF and SJ Bay Area, CA Region.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Available for early morning shifts (12 a.m.–8 a.m.), with occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform physical tasks including standing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Reliable transportation; driving within 90-mile radius may be part of job duties
  • Phone required
  • Ability to commit to 4–8-hour shifts or until inventory completion.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication) and familiarity with SKU/check digit codes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in the inventory service industry preferred but not required.
  • Convenience store product knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Counting physical inventories at company convenience stores across the Sacramento region
  • Using handheld devices (10-key entry or scanners) to enter and verify data accurately
  • Generating department audit reports and reconciling computer data with physical counts.
  • Identifying and reporting errors or discrepancies
  • Maintaining efficiency and accuracy under time-sensitive conditions
  • Collaborating with the department head to meet strict compliance with loss prevention and auditing standards
  • Performing additional duties as assigned
