Job Summary: The Logistics & Inventory Manager is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and performance of all logistics, inventory control, and material flow activities across multiple facilities. This role ensures accurate inventory, effective material allocation to production jobs within ERP (Shoptech E2 MFG), and the efficient movement of materials through receiving, internal operations, and shipping. This position leads a cross-functional team including drivers, shipping & receiving associates, inventory control personnel, and material handlers. The Manager is accountable for inventory accuracy, on-time delivery performance, ERP system integrity, and continuous improvement of logistics processes. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong engagement on the floor, cross-functional coordination, and a focus on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, inventory management, or supply chain operations preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment
  • Experience working in an ERP system (Shoptech strongly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of inventory control practices, material flow, and warehouse operations
  • Proven experience managing teams across multiple functions and/or locations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook; PowerPoint preferred)
  • Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, floor-oriented management style
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and system integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across locations in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Data-driven mindset with experience developing and using KPIs

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain accurate inventory across multiple facilities, including raw materials, hardware, and finished goods
  • Ensure proper allocation of materials to work orders/jobs within ERP, maintaining system integrity and traceability
  • Lead cycle count programs, physical inventories, and audit processes; drive root cause corrective actions for discrepancies
  • Establish and enforce inventory control standards, including FIFO and location accuracy
  • Ensure all inventory transactions (receipts, issues, transfers, shipments) are accurate and timely in the ERP system
  • Partner with Purchasing, Production and Planning to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules
  • Oversee operations of shipping, receiving, and internal material movement across all facilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate receiving, inspection, and system entry of incoming materials
  • Ensure all outbound shipments meet customer requirements, documentation standards, and on-time delivery expectations
  • Plan and coordinate transportation, including internal drivers and external carriers, optimizing cost and service levels
  • Maintain accurate shipping records including bills of lading, GPS logs, and scale tickets as applicable
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multi-functional team including drivers, shipping/receiving associates, inventory control, and material handlers
  • Establish clear expectations, monitor performance, and hold team accountable to safety, quality, and productivity standards
  • Conduct hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and corrective actions as needed
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Drive employee engagement and ensure alignment with company values and operational goals
  • Lead and manage the company’s vehicle and driver safety program
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and internal safety requirements
  • Provide ongoing driver safety training, reporting, and incident follow-up
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase inventory accuracy, reduce waste, and improve material flow
  • Develop and track KPIs (inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, receiving efficiency, etc.)
  • Lead problem-solving related to inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, and material shortages
  • Support cross-functional initiatives with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain
