About The Position

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for analyzing room inventory and managing exceeding inventory strategies across all booking channels. This role involves closely monitoring occupancy trends to maximize hotel occupancy and optimize room availability. The Inventory Analyst collaborates with the Inventory Manager the Director of the DoD RC and NHG operations teams to deliver data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • A total of 2 years consisting of the following GENERAL EXPERIENCE One 1 year of experience gained in hospitality hotel operations reservations or yield management or within the hospitality industry which enabled the applicant to gain a background in operational practices and the ability to exercise mature judgement and skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships.
  • SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE One 1 year of specialized experience that provided knowledge of hotel motel or related service-industry operations. Such experience must demonstrate the ability to work with inventory or property management systems analyze booking data to support operational accuracy and a background in most of the following inventory balancing front office reservations and customer service. Experience must also reflect effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One 1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 1 year of general experience up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelors degree in hospitality Business Marketing or other related field for one 1 year of specialized experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors daily weekly and monthly occupancy and revenue trends across multiple NHG properties.
  • Assists with the analysis of historical data booking patterns and market conditions to help forecast demand.
  • Supports the implementation of room allocation and oversell strategies to optimize inventory and availability.
  • Tracks minimum length of stay MLOS group reservations and high-demand periods across NHG properties.
  • Monitors local events seasonal trends and economic factors that may impact occupancy.
  • Prepares and presents analytical reports and inventory insights to support operational decisions.
  • Collaborates with the Inventory Manager and hotel operations teams to maintain up-to-date availability and system accuracy.
  • Provides input and support for group bookings and seasonal offerings.
  • Coordinates with IT and system teams to resolve data or inventory-related issues.
  • Maintains working knowledge of HMS CRS PMS and other reservation inventory systems.
  • Assists with ensuring compliance with Personally Identifiable Information PII Payment Card Industry PCI and other NHG policies.
  • Responds to inventory and reservation inquiries from internal teams in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supports ongoing training for DoD RC associates and others as needed regarding availability processes and system updates.
  • Works scheduled time in the call queue and assists during peak or emergency periods.
  • Stays current on HUB updates policy changes and NHG directives related to inventory and guest service.
  • Supports leadership in identifying areas for improvement in inventory management and guest experience.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned in support of NHG Operations
