About The Position

This position cares for patients before, during and after an electrophysiology procedure. This position cares for Structural heart (including Watchman), Lead extractions, ablations, Vascular and EP pacemaker / device patients. This includes pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of procedural process, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, mapping, post-procedure care and patient education.

Requirements

• Credential: RN: Registered Nurse
• Equivalent Experience: Knowledge of the nursing techniques normally acquired through the completion of an Associates Degree in Nursing culminating in licensure in the State of Michigan.

• Credential:BLS: Basic Life Support
• Equivalent Experience: Within 1 month of hire or transfer
• Qualification Source: AHA

• Credential:ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Equivalent Experience: Within 1 month of hire or transfer

• Education: Associates Degree in Nursing required.
• Equivalent Experience: Knowledge of the nursing techniques normally acquired through the completion of an Associates Degree in Nursing culminating in licensure in the State of Michigan.
• Education Specialization: NRG

• Knowledge of critical care nursing as normally acquired through 2 years' experience working in a Medical Center or similar setting.
• Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Preferred: Electrophysiology skills as gained through a minimum of 1 year of experience working in an electrophysiology lab environment

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care for the above outlined procedures, but not limited to:
• Circulates and assists during cases, including sterically drop procedural supplies on tray, scrubbing in the case, running for supplies.
• Records all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets.
• Assists Radiologic Technologists circulate cases, sterically drop procedural supplies on tray.
