About The Position

Nura, PLLC. has an excellent career opportunity for an Intrathecal Pain Pump (Infusion) RN. The purpose of this position is to complement and enhance the quality of service to our patients, providing information and direction in a professional, courteous and timely manner. The Intrathecal Pain Pump (Infusion) RN is involved in strategic planning and continuous quality improvement by providing planning and development of patient care with implantable devices, intrathecal pain pumps and neurostimulation. Ensures and maintains patient care delivery in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and department objectives. Assure adequate exchange of information and communication among teams. This role is intended to serve primarily at our Edina location but must be willing to help out at our Coon Rapids location, as needed.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Strong organizational, judgment, communication and analytical skills; sometimes under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform multiple priorities.
  • Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management and visitors.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • Ability to promote favorable facility image with patients, providers, insurance companies and general public.
  • Ability to independently make decisions and solve problems within the scope of licensure; ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Evidence of leadership qualities. Consistently contributing to the improvement of the department and participate in committee participation, task force, etc.
  • The ability to contribute in a team environment and to provide excellent customer service.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Current state registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certified or obtain certification within three months of hire.
  • ACLS certificated or obtain certification within the first year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Medical treatment coordination for prospective and/or current pump patients.
  • Performs pump refills under supervision of APP or Physician.
  • Able to treat post op pump/implant patients under the supervision of APP or Physician.
  • Performs staple/suture removal for post op patients under supervision of APP or Physician.
  • Triage pump/implant calls.
  • Communicate with specific departments via tasking in EHR.
  • Works with APP and Physicians regarding pump medication prescriptions.
  • Education and collaboration of pump patients and family members from consult to post procedure.
  • Education of outside agencies and physician offices.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with device representatives to ensure quality care to all implant patients.
  • Assists implant physicians in completing patient forms, and or insurance/prior authorization for procedures or medications when applicable and document.
  • Helps develop and update implant templates and databases.
  • Accurate and complete EHR documentation.
  • Provides customers with courteous, friendly and efficient service.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Assists with training of other implant staff related to the specific job duties.
  • Attends required staff, educational and training meetings.
  • Reads, follows and applies all appropriate procedures and protocols.
  • May be asked to work nights/weekends for after hour patient calls.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of Nura.
